Services what I do
Some people enjoy self-recording, but professional help at some point in the production, tracking, and mixing stages is the best way to capture your sonic vision. I offer flexible services that allow you to be more efficient and sound more professional.
Mixing
I mix anything from simple mixtapes to track-heavy, modern productions with sample replacement, though I prefer a more organic production style. I use a hybrid system with outboard compression, eq, and fx, summing 24 tracks of audio on an analog mixer with all the benefits of digital editing and automation.
Studio Recording
I track in several local studios, and rates vary accordingly. For work in my private, purpose-built residential space, I charge $35-50 per hour. The live and control rooms have $15,000 in acoustic treatment. Spiral Groove Studio One monitors and Avantone Mixcubes guarantee excellent translation, so you can have faith in decisions we make while tracking.
Live Recordings
I have always loved live music, whether on stage or in the crowd, and I bring that passion and experience to remote recordings of any scope. A custom, 24 channel snake-splitter isolates my entire recording rig from the house sound system, providing flexibility and distortion-free recordings in venues of any size.
Voice Over / Commercial Work
I have tracked and mixed music and VOs for the web, radio, television, and film.
About Me company biography
Square One Studios did not begin as an easy way to make money. It is a product of passion, hard work, and experience. I have played on stage in both symphony halls and rock clubs, engineered behind the board at live venues and festivals, and recorded in studios on both sides of the glass. I am very mindful of the engineer’s role as a “virtual member” of the band. My goal is to facilitate a creative experience, allowing musicians to simply be musicians while I capture a moment in time. Amazing sonics blossom when everyone communicates and works together on a creative vision. I always like to meet new clients, discuss goals, and see if we are a good fit.
